Since August
2009 'digital genius BVBA' is a full subsidiary of
Digital Darwin BVBA. In 2010 Digital Genius
continues to offer the same services under its new
name 'd2 benelux BVBA'.
All company
details remain unchanged. Together with Digital
Darwin, d2 benelux will further develop its ICT
activities. 'Digital Genius' remains a registered
trademark of Digital Darwin.
Digital Darwin is a technology
group with focus on point of information, sales and
multimedia solutions. Since its creation in 2000 it
has build a reputation as trendsetter in development
& implementation of POS, self service payment
solutions.
In 2004 a joint
venture (Digital Genius) was co-founded to focus on Benelux cinema POS technology.
In the next year a software factory
was set up in China to develop an offshore development
capacity.
Since its creation
Digital Darwin (and its founder James Troch) had been involved in Digital Cinema
projection and play-out technology through different projects of the European
Commission. As part of the companies strategy to also offer a total digital
sound/projection solution for exhibitors, it signed exclusive distributor
agreements with Qube Cinema and Dvidea. In 2008 and 2009
Digital Darwin (aka d2) was selected as official digital cinema partner of the Venice Film
Festival.
In 2009 Digital Darwin
acquired and fully integrated Digital Genius and renamed the latter in 'd2 benelux'. The same year 'd2 italia' was founded to focus on the growing Italian
activities in post production and cinema technology.
Also in 2009 Digital Darwin launched
two revolutionary products for post production
facilities: dcp duplicator a dc cru based modular
harddisk duplication system and dcp 360°, a software
solution to manage all post production dcp activities
including disk tracking and logistical support. (dcp
stands for digital cinema package).
d2 benelux and d2 italia are
subsidiaries of digital darwin.
Digital
Darwin has activities in Benelux, China, France, Italy and Spain.
